LEARNING OBJECTIVES  (Histopathological Diagnosis of Rejection of Vascularized Composite Tissue Allografts: Clues and Pitfalls)
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the pathological basis for diagnosing acute and chronic rejection of VCA
  • Assess differential diagnoses of VCA rejection from unrelated conditions

LEARNING OBJECTIVES  (Cutaneous GVHD and Skin Rejection in VCA: A Clinical and Histopathologic Comparison)
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Illustrate several variants and stages of cutaneous graft versus host disease and compare these changes to well known skin diseases as well as to changes in composite allograft rejection
  • Discuss newer developments in the diagnosis and pathophysiology of graft versus host disease of possible relevance to allograft rejection
  • Discuss therapies currently used or in the developmental stage which may be of benefit to patients to either prevent or treat allograft rejection
