Learning objectives:
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Summarize the likely role of microglia in Alzheimer’s pathogenesis
- Assess the potential roles of lysosomal insufficiency in Lewy body disorders and the ubiquitin proteasome in tangle diseases
- Describe why many elderly have multiple pathologies
Prof Hardy does have relevant financial relationships to disclose: Consulting – Eli Lilly, Eisai, Roche; Stock, stock options Ceracuity (Biotec start up) and does intend to discuss off-label/investigative use of Pharmaceuticals or Instruments: Expected to be asked about aducanemab and lecanemab the treatment of Alzhelmers disease. These are Eisai drugs from whom he has consulted. He has not been involved in these programmes.
