TARGET AUDIENCE
Physicians that work within the transplant department and cardiology, as well as fellows, nurses, and NPs who work with heart transplant patients.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize current medical therapies and outcomes in patients with advanced heart failure
  • Maintain up-to-date information on changing pharmacological interventions in patients with advanced CHF
  • Maintain up-to-date information on changing technologies in available and experimental devices for mechanical circulatory support
  • Manage patients following implantation of left ventricular assist devices
  • Describe current medical therapies both available and experimental for immune suppression following heart transplantation
  • Manage patients following heart transplantation and anticipating complications
