Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of Dr. Kyper’s program, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the signs and/or symptoms of various endocrine emergencies that may be encountered in the NeuroICU
- Describe how to order and interpret the appropriate diagnostic studies to arrive at the correct diagnosis and establish a treatment plan
- Navigate and troubleshoot any potential pitfalls that accompany complex endocrine conditions with neurologic presentations
- Express how to collaborate with other providers and disciplines to best impact patient care
Upon conclusion of Dr. McPhearson’s program, participants should be able to:
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the Heart-Brain Axis
- Summarize the physiology of brain-heart interactions
- Recognize effects of neurologic injury on cardiac function
