Title: Mistakes to Avoid in the Management of Severe Ulcerative Colitis

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify pitfalls when managing patients with acute severe ulcerative colitis
  • Determine when and if to use antibiotics and to feed hospitalized patients with acute severe ulcerative colitis
  • Review appropriate use of corticosteroids in hospitalized patients with acute severe ulcerative colitis and how and when to utilize rescue therapy
