PRESENTER BIO

Safia K. Ahmed, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She graduated with her medical degree from the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and completed her residency at Mayo in Rochester. Dr. Ahmed specializes in treating sarcomas and pediatric malignancies. Her research focuses on advancing radiation approaches for sarcoma patients. She is the principal investigator for prospective institutional, Multi-Institutional, and cooperative group studies. Dr. Ahmed is a member of the Children’s Oncology Group’s Bone Tumor and Adolescent Young Adult Sarcoma Committees and serves on the medical advisory board for the Rein in Sarcoma Foundation. Dr. Ahmed is also passionate about education and holds the Associated Residency Program Director and Fellowship Director position in the Radiation Oncology Department. She also serves as the Education Chair for the Pediatric Disease Group within the Cancer Center.
