DESCRIPTION
Neurology Grand Rounds offers education about a broad range of neurology topics and subspecialties (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, migraine, epilepsy, stroke). In addition neurology grand rounds involves the neurology residency program. Neurology residents perform one clinicopathological conference (CPC) during the residency, and make case correlations with other disciplines such as neuropathology, neuroradiology and neuro-ophthalmology. Occasionally invited outside visiting professors are invited to speak on a latreaking science or clinical update.

 
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended primarily for Neurologists of various subspecialties (Behavioral neurology, pediatric neurology, autonomic neurology, cerebrovascular, movement disorders, clinical neurophysiology, epilepsy, demyelinating disease, critical care) as well as neurology trainees (residents and fellows) as well as allied health staff (extenders and nurses), pharmacists, physical therapy, and speech therapy all share patient care responsibilities for neurologic patients. 
 
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 
  • Define areas of new neuroscience knowledge and research
  • Recognize Clinicopathologic (CPC) correlations of neurologic disease
  • Explain recent advances in neuroscience and neurology/neurosurgery
