Mayo Clinic's 99th Annual Clinical Reviews seeks to update primary care providers on the latest recommendations involving medical subspecialties. The course provides a comprehensive program of lectures on topics of general interest in medicine, surgery, and pediatrics relevant to clinical practice.

Care of Women - ABFM KSA Module

The Care of Women KSA will focus on having a better understanding of the unique health care needs as well as common medical conditions experienced by gender-identified women including gynecologic conditions and reproductive health, diagnosis and treat behavioral and mental health conditions in female patients, increasing knowledge and understanding of pre-conception care and prenatal care and being better prepared to diagnose and manage conditions experienced during and after pregnancy.
This 4-hour session will use the American Board of Family Medicine Care of Women knowledge self-assessment(KSA) module to review topics in a quiz/answer/discussion format. Participants that are certified by the American Board of Family Medicine will receive credit for completion of the ABFM KSA. The KSA will be completed by group participation and discussion to allow for learning from each other. Additionally, a content expert will provide clarification and additional content. The workshop is not restricted to physicians certified by The American Board of Family Medicine only. Clinicians certified by other organizations will benefit from the same learning opportunities.
Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses practicing in primary care, family medicine, and internal medicine.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the optimal secondary prevention strategies following transient ischemic attack or cerebral infarction
- Select ideal candidates for GLP-1 agonist therapy for weight loss and navigate the complexities of prescribing, monitoring, and de-escalating their use
- Recognize common side effects and risks of multiple sclerosis disease modifying therapies
- Demonstrate the ability to apply evidence-based communication strategies to address vaccine hesitancy
- Identify clinical implications in risk stratification and management decisions in patients with fatty liver disease

Rochester, Minnesota, is a friendly city that greets thousands of visitors from around the world each year. The city is serviced by a modern international airport with multiple flights and connections daily. Access to and from the airport is provided by taxi, shuttle service, and rental car. The airport is located approximately 10 miles from the Mayo Clinic campus.
Note to Travelers: Several cities in the United States are named Rochester. When you make airline reservations and check your baggage, be sure that your destination is Rochester, Minnesota (RST) and that your baggage has been properly tagged.
Flying through the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is another option. There are two shuttle services that provide direct service to Mayo Clinic and the surrounding area. Travel time is approximately 90 minutes.
