Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Recognize potential iatrogenic side effects of blood product transfusion depending on the laboratory methods used for testing.

2. Recall different approaches and options for the management of critically ill patients with enterococcal infection.

3. Distinguish causes of true and false positive beta-D-glucan in critically ill patients and assess the need to act accordingly.
