This event features keynote speakers Dr. Victor Montori and Dr. Ross Dierkhising who will review study design and biostatistical approach. In addition, the event will feature selected poster reviews as well as a general poster session. Dr. Stacey will also review turning your curiosity into research.
Target Audience
This course is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, residents/fellows, scientists, researchers, CRNAs and others with an interest in learning about research in the SWWI health system.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Participants will be able to formulate investigator-initiated research questions which incorporate public health, social, and ethical dimensions.
- Participants will be able to understand and apply common biostatistical analyses and models toward clinical science research projects.
- Describe the depth and breadth of ongoing clinical research in Southwest Wisconsin Research Community in order to foster collaboration and mentorship opportunities.
- Explain the resources, including computational tools, available and/ or necessary for clinical research design and conduct.
- Describe how to design a retrospective study and implementation steps to initiate this type of project.
