"Tales from the Crypt: A Sleep Neurology Spooktacular!"

Learning objectives: 
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Diagnose and treat narcolepsy and related central disorders of hypersomnolence, including uses for CSF Hypocretin testing.
  • Recognize OSA using STOP-BANG screening tool and overnight oximetry.
  • Identify augmentation and impulse control disorders in restless legs syndrome (RLS) patients, and utilize alternative non-dopaminergic therapies, including iron replacement therapy, and the novel TOMAC neuromodulation device.
  • Diagnose and treat REM sleep behavior disorder and understand its significance as a prodromal synucleinopathy.

Dr. St. Louis does not have any relevant financial relationships to disclose and does intend to discuss the following off-label/investigative use of Pharmaceuticals or Instruments: Multiple: Alpha-2-delta ligand agents (gabapentin, pregabalin); and Therapies for parasomnias (for which all therapies off label)
