This two and a half day continuing medical education course will provide a multidisciplinary update in prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, management, and treatment of benign and malignant breast diseases, high risk and survivorship issues. The course has multidisciplinary experts in their field presenting the latest, diagnostic, treatment and management options. Highlights include: Genetics and High Risk and Mutation Carrier Management, Lifestyle and Breast Cancer Risk Reduction, Breast Imaging Modalities and Supplemental Screening Options, Updates in Surgical Management and Local Treatment of Breast Cancer, Radiation Therapy Options, Advances in Oncology, Updates in Breast Reconstruction & Advanced Robotic Surgical Techniques. 

Faculty are multidisciplinary experts in their field presenting the latest diagnostic, treatment and management options. 

Topics include: genetics and high-risk management, breast imaging modalities and supplemental imaging, surgical and radiation oncology advancements, and more.

Target Audience

This course is designed for primary care providers, oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, pathologists, gynecologists, and advanced practice providers who diagnose and treat patients with breast cancer.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe supplemental breast imaging and how to counsel patients
  • Recognize modern adjuncts in breast surgery
  • Summarize management of mutation carriers and surveillance options
  • Summarize impact of molecular subtypes on surgical planning
  • Review updates in the management of the axilla and early breast cancer
  • Describe what's new in integrative oncology in breast cancer care
  • Describe surveillance imaging after preventive medication use in high-risk patients
  • Summarize breast cancer management in special populations
  • Describe de-escalation options of low risk DCIS treatment
