Motion Management Practices and New Technology Applications

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize common sources of risk and error in SBRT for mobile targets, drawing from recent SAILS cases and a reportable medical event.

  • Describe respiratory motion management strategies and adaptive planning approaches that enhance accuracy and safety in SBRT delivery.

  • Compare machine-specific workflows, including implementation on the Ethos platform, and evaluate their implications for quality and safety.

  • Apply principles of multidisciplinary collaboration between therapists, physicists, and physicians to strengthen error prevention and patient safety in SBRT practice.
