This course is an online course consisting of online learning modules and recorded virtual presentations.

Course Director:
Stacy D. D’Andre, M.D., is a consultant in the Division of Medical Oncology, Department of Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, with a joint appointment in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine. Dr. D’Andre joined the staff of Mayo Clinic in 2021 and holds the academic rank of assistant professor of oncology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.  
Dr. D’Andre attended medical school at UC Davis in California. She then completed her internal medicine training at the University of Virginia and her hematology/ oncology training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. After practicing medical oncology with a special focus in gynecologic cancers and central nervous system cancers, she did additional training in integrative medicine and combined these two specialties. Dr. D’Andre studied both integrative/lifestyle medicine and functional medicine and is certified in functional medicine through the Society for Functional Medicine. 
Dr. D’Andre started a new Integrative Oncology Clinic at Mayo Clinic. Her clinical focus is on helping cancer patients with lifestyle changes, including improving diet, exercise, sleep and reducing stress. She also ensures safe and appropriate supplement use and assists patients with medical cannabis when indicated.  
Her research focus is on supportive care of cancer patients, using lifestyle modification or supplements to help with side effects of treatment and/or improving outcomes. She has a special interest in medical cannabis research and medicinal mushrooms. She has given presentations both nationally and internationally and has authored journal articles, book chapters and other publications.  
Dr. D’Andre has been recognized with the Abstract Merit Award, conferred by the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Karis Award, given in grateful recognition for exceptional performance in demonstrating the Mayo Clinic values. 

Faculty:
Lisa L. Ellsworth, P.A.-C., an Instructor of Oncology, has been caring for patients in an Oncology setting since graduating from PA school in 2001.  Soon into her practice, she realized that she could not answer her patients' questions about nutrition and supplements.  She stumbled on an environmental medicine course through the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine and explored other course offerings. She knew this was her passion and enrolled in the University of Arizona, Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine Fellowship from which she graduated in the Fall of 2021. Thereafter she was accepted into the NIH-sponsored Integrative Oncology Scholars program through the University of Michigan, graduating in May of 2022.  Having worked in Connecticut, Texas, and Colorado her journey took her to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota in October 2022.  There was an opportunity to work both in Breast and Integrative Oncology. As lifestyle is the basis of Integrative Medicine, she was board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine in December 2023.  In July 2024, she moved to a full-time Integrative Medicine position to help grow the Cancer Survivorship program at Mayo Clinic.   

Maggie Kruger earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Illinois State University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree focused on Integrative Health and Healing from the University of Minnesota.  Maggie worked for five years as an inpatient oncology nurse before transitioning to the outpatient setting where she works on the Integrative Oncology Care Team. She completed training as a health and wellness coaching through Mayo Clinic’s wellness coach training program.   As a nurse on the Integrative Oncology team Maggie is passionate about improving quality of life for cancer patients.  She focuses on helping cancer patients with lifestyle medicine changes such as nutrition, exercise, and stress management and provides support for patients to safely incorporate integrative therapies in combination with their conventional cancer treatment for symptom management. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, gardening, bee keeping, and spending time with her husband, son, and two dogs. Maggie is a nurse in the Division of Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic – Rochester and a health and wellness coach.

Amy Kuth is a Patient Educator at the Mayo Clinic Stephen and Barbara Slaggie Family Cancer Education Center. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of WI – La Crosse, and received her Master’s degree in Holistic Health Studies from St. Catherine University. Amy has been involved in teaching and curriculum development for a wide variety of well-being and cancer-related topics. She has had extensive training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach. She enjoys teaching, supporting, and empowering cancer patients through all phases of their cancer journey.

Molly Mallory has been working as a Licensed Acupuncturist for 20 years. She holds a Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine, is licensed by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice, and credentialed as a Diplomate in Acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  She has practiced at Mayo Clinic for 13 years and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Integrative Medicine and Health. During her time at Mayo Clinic, Molly has been involved with research projects, completed the Mayo Clinic Wellness Coach program, and the Stress Management and Resiliency Training program through the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. She has a passion for working with oncology patients to reduce symptom burden and improve quality of life.

Morgan Miller, APRN, C.N.P., D.N.P., is a Nurse Practitioner in Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic] specializing in GI Malignancies, Neuroendocrine Tumors, and Integrative Oncology, including cannabis consults. She attended Winona State University for her Nursing, RN, BSN followed by 10 + years of experience as a RN on a busy inpatient oncology floor. Due to her experiences on the unit and patient’s asking questions when she obtained her Doctorate degree in May 2020 from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN, the doctoral project was, Provider Education on Medical Cannabis. Since then, she has presented at multiple different formats regarding Medical Cannabis to Allied Health Staff at Nursing Grand Rounds, Holistic Wellness Conference, and multiple specialty education days. Additionally, Morgan is a member of the American Cannabis Nurses Association, Society of Cannabis Clinicians, and has completed training from The Medical Cannabis Institute and through Healer.com.

Heather Montane, P.A.-C., M.S., R.D., is an Assistant Professor of Oncology in the Department of Oncology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, Minnesota. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Pacific University. She completed an Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship in Medical Oncology at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance / Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.  She is a member of several professional organizations and has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. She has a clinical interest in health and wellness as it pertains to cancer prevention and symptom management.

Angie Murad holds a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She has spent significant time at Mayo Clinic, primarily as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in weight management and healthy lifestyle practices. Currently, she serves as a Patient Educator at the Mayo Clinic Stephen and Barbara Slaggie Family Cancer Education Center, where she develops curriculum and provides education focused on symptom control and survivorship to support patients’ needs.
 

Andrea Randall is a research support pharmacist at Mayo Clinic. She earned her Pharm.D. from Creighton University and her M.S. in Psychoactive Pharmaceutical Investigations from UW-Madison. Her aim is to use her expertise to further the research of psychedelic therapies for treating mental health disorders and other health conditions. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, reading, traveling, and learning new things.

 

Linde Sifuentes is a graduate of Minot State University with a degree in Corporate Fitness. He is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American College of Sports Medicine. Linde is a Patient Educator at the Stephen and Barbara Slaggie Family Cancer Education Center. Linde also serves on the Mayo Clinic Heritage Classic Planning Committee and the Community Giving Campaign Cabinet. Linde has been employed with the Mayo Clinic for 21 years.

 

Mark Berry with Tae Kwon Do in 1974, a discipline that teaches "the way" (Do or Tao) through the art of hand and foot techniques. In 1982, Mark relocated to Sacramento, CA, where he had the privilege of studying under Grand Master Kang, one of the world’s few 10th Dan practitioners. Mark trained extensively in both group and private sessions and more formally incorporating Qigong and Tai Chi into his practice. Grand Master Kang was a revered figure in martial arts, part of a lineage that stretches back over 1,500 years. Following Grand Master Kang's passing in 2012, Mark continued his legacy with Kang’s United Arts College, LLC. In addition to a martial arts background, Mark holds a BA degree from UC Berkeley and a law degree from the University of the Pacific. He has been teaching martial arts since 1977 and currently holds the rank of 7th Dan in Tae Kwon Do Moo Duk Kwon.
