- Appraise the current scientific evidence evaluating the association between dental procedures and the risks of periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) in patients with total joint arthroplasty.
- Summarize the key recommendations from contemporary clinical practice guidelines regarding antibiotic prophylaxis prior to dental procedures in arthroplasty patients.
- Apply evidence-based, patient-specific strategies for the management of dental prophylaxis in the perioperative and long-term care of joint arthroplasty patients, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration between dental and orthopedic providers.
