Target Audience
This course is designed for surgeons, anesthesiologists, critical care physicians, physician assistants, nurses, organ procurement coordinators, residents, fellows, perfusionists, and other allied health professionals involved in organ donation procedures.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe methods to optimize donor organ viability.
- Detail challenges encountered in DCD donation and procurement.
- Summarize the medical criteria for assessing donor eligibility, procurement, preservation, and transplantation.
- Identify the importance of ethical and legal considerations surrounding organ donation.
