Mayo Clinic’s Hospital Medicine Boot Camp for NPPAs is a two-day course designed for the novice learner, ideally within the first year of their hospital-based NPPA position. This course is meant to be fun and full of practical information taught by faculty that use current guidelines and share tidbits of experience to help successfully care for acutely ill hospitalized patients. It is filled with a variety of commonly encountered hospital scenarios followed by interactive and informal discussion. Open dialog is encouraged. Participants should feel free to wear scrubs and comfortable shoes, bring a stethoscope, and reference/clinical materials used in daily practice. Despite being called boot camp there are no physical fitness elements to the course.

03/24/2025 - 7:00am to 03/28/2025 - 1:00pmMarch 24 - 28, 2025 - The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua - Kapalua, Hawaii This course offers Live (in-person) and Livestream (virtual) attendance options This course is designed to update physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other healthcare professionals practicing clinical gastroenterology and hepatology about new approaches to the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. Faculty present data on multiple topics including general gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal neoplasia, esophageal diseases, motility, nutrition, pancreaticobiliary disorders, endoscopy and hepatology. The IBD symposium will focus on several aspects of the care of patients with IBD, including disease and adverse event monitoring, diet and nutritional recommendations for providers and patients, identifying and managing ileal pouch related disorders and dysplasia surveillance. This symposium will also include case discussions with experts on the role of combination therapy and therapeutic drug monitoring in routine IBD clinical care. Concurrent lunch breakout sessions offering an extensive review and discussion of clinical topics. Video presentations on complex endoscopy cases and new technology are presented by expert endoscopists. Controversies in diagnosis and management are analyzed in panel discussions.
