December 2 - 5, 2024 - Marco Island Marriott - Marco Island, Florida The program seeks to address competence in using multiple echocardiographic techniques in assessment of cardiac structure and function in adult acquired or congenital heart disease. This will include concise, limited didactic lectures with major emphasis on a series of illustrative cases which will include audience response and discussion presented by echocardiography specialists which would lead to enhanced patient management. Workshops will be held to demonstrate the techniques for acquiring the echocardiographic data, especially with respect to new contemporary techniques such as strain imaging.

December 4 - 7, 2024 - Mayo Clinic - Jacksonville, Florida This course offers Live (in-person) and Livestream (virtual) attendance options Extracorporeal life support system, ECMO as rescue therapy for refractory cardiopulmonary failure is increasingly gaining attention in clinical practices over the years. During the COVID19 pandemic, application of ECMO has saved scores of lives across the globes. It's being deemed as the new mechanical ventilator of 21st century. The challenges are how to best utilize the system to get the maximum benefits. In the absence of robust randomized clinical trials and guidelines, practice varies widely. This course is aimed at practical case-based management for the current commonly used indications for life supports.

This symposium will facilitate the exchange of ideas and new scientific direction involving basic biology and pathways that eventually lead to new individualize therapy for patients. Clinician scientists will present the results of ongoing clinical trials on targeted therapy including immune therapy, anti-angiogenic therapy and others. Novel genetic and imaging methods to assess alteration of tumor microenvironment for monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic responses in both pre-clinical and clinical trials will be discussed. Different clinical challenges and benefits of new therapeutic avenues including cardio-oncology will be presented. Overall, it is hoped that this symposium will assist in establishing strong collaborations among leading national, international, and Mayo Clinic experts in the field.
